Cloudways Vs WP Engine
Eden (eden.so) is a creator workspace with a store attached, not just a shop builder. This explainer covers what the store sells, what it costs in dollars plus fees, and who should look elsewhere.
The features, plan prices and fees are attributed to Eden's pages, checked on 18 October 2026, with competitor and third-party sources named where used. It covers eden.so only, not other companies called Eden.
Quick Overview
- Eden's store sits inside a wider workspace for research, content and email, so judge it as a bundle.
- Courses and digital downloads were only added on 21 September 2026, so expect things to change.
- Publishing needs a paid plan; Eden's courses page quoted Starter at $29 a month on 18 October 2026.
- Eden takes 5% per sale, Stripe's card fees come on top, and Eden's stated prices exclude VAT.
- Eden's own pages disagree on the Starter price and email limits, so check the live pricing page.
- Eden itself says to look elsewhere if you want tax handled for you or a custom domain.

What Eden is, and what you can sell in the store
Custom AI
Eden lists a Custom AI as one of the things its store can sell. Its help walkthrough names it alongside the other formats. Check Eden's own description of how it works for buyers.
Course
Courses were added as a store product type on 21 September 2026, according to Eden's what's-new page. Publishing a course needs the Starter plan or above. Because the feature is new, expect it to keep changing.
Digital download
Eden says downloads can be boards, documents, tables, PDFs, ebooks, audio, video or zip files. It also added this type on 21 September 2026.
Membership
Eden's walkthrough lists a membership as a store product type. Our sources give no more detail than that, so ask Eden how access and renewals work before you build a paid community around it.
Creator page
Eden also offers a creator page, which it describes as a one-link page for your social bio that shows your products. It may replace a separate link-in-bio tool if you are happy with Eden's version.
Eden describes itself as 'the content brain for creators and marketers': one place to research viral posts, create content, sell digital products and grow an email list. The store is one part of that bundle.
These are features as Eden states them.

Email: built in, or bring your own tool
The built-in route
Eden's store page says email marketing is built in. Buyers, people who claim a free product and signups all join your list. On Starter you can send broadcasts, while Pro adds sequences and checkout recovery.
If you have no list yet, this is the simplest start, because the list builds itself as the store sells.
Keeping your existing tool
You do not have to move a list you already have. Eden says its store can add buyers to Kit, beehiiv, GoHighLevel or Substack, and that Zapier or Make can be used to connect other tools.
For any of these syncs, run a test purchase and check the buyer lands in the right place.

Which route fits
With a small or empty list, the built-in route means one login and fewer moving parts. With an established list or automations elsewhere, the connection route avoids rebuilding them, though you then depend on the link between the two.
If you want to automate beyond Eden's named tools, a connector like Make is the route Eden points to.
Email limits: check live
We are not quoting contact or send limits, because Eden's own pages disagree on them. Open the live pricing page, note the limits with the date, and compare them with the size of your list.
What Eden costs, in plain English
Layer one: the plan fee
Eden's courses page, checked on 18 October 2026, says Starter is $29 a month plus 5% per sale. Building is free on any plan, but publishing needs Starter, Pro or Studio. The price is in US dollars and Eden's stated prices exclude VAT.
Prices can change, and the sterling cost will move with the exchange rate, so do not treat a pound conversion as fixed.

The price discrepancy
Eden's pricing page snippet showed Starter differently, at $25 a month billed $299 a year. We cannot tell which is current, or whether the difference is monthly against annual billing. Treat both as unconfirmed and read the live pricing page before you pay.
Layer two and three: Eden's cut and Stripe's
Eden's store page says it takes a flat 5% per sale, or 2% on its Max plan. Payments go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe's processing fee comes out of your share.
Stripe's published UK rates, as summarised by a third party in July 2026, are 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards, 1.9% + 20p for premium UK cards, 2.5% + 20p for EEA cards and 3.25% + 20p for international cards. Confirm them on Stripe's own UK page.
The all-in rule
All-in cut per sale = Eden's 5% + Stripe's percentage + Stripe's 20p, plus the monthly plan fee spread across your sales. Do this sum with your own prices before committing.
Worked example: a £10 sale and a £200 sale
A £10 template
This is a hypothetical illustration only, not a forecast, and it implies nothing about sales or income. Assume a standard UK card, Eden's 5% and Stripe's 1.5% + 20p. The plan fee stays in dollars, so no exchange rate is used.
Stripe takes about 35p, an effective 3.5%. Eden takes 50p. That is roughly 85p combined before the plan fee. The fixed 20p is what makes cheap templates feel the cost most.
A £200 course
Same hypothetical assumptions and the same caveats, now on a £200 sale. Stripe takes about £3.20, an effective rate of about 1.6%. Eden takes £10. That is roughly £13.20 combined before the plan fee.
Other card types cost more, as the Stripe rates above show. This is not tax or accounting advice.
Eden vs the usual alternatives: Stan Store, Gumroad, Payhip and Kajabi
Stan Store (vendor claim)
Eden's own blog, written by Eden and so a rival's view of Stan, says Stan Store's Creator plan (0% platform fee, $29 a month) is cheaper per sale than Eden at every sales level. It also says Eden Pro is cheaper than Stan Pro until about $400 a month in sales.
That is one vendor's comparison, not a universal break-even. Prices can change, so check both sites.
Gumroad (competitor claim)
Stan Store's blog, written by a competitor, says Gumroad charges 10% + 50 cents per direct sale on its free plan and 30% on marketplace sales. Stan contrasts that with its flat monthly plans and 0% transaction fees.
Treat this as an indicative range only and check Gumroad's own fee page.
Others: Payhip and Kajabi
The Eden material we checked compares Stan and Gumroad only. We hold no verified figures for Payhip or Kajabi, so check their live pricing pages before comparing.
Who Eden suits, and who should look elsewhere
May suit
A UK side-hustler who wants a creator page, checkout, courses or downloads and basic email in one place, and who accepts a dollar plan and early-stage features.
Two quick tests: if most products are cheap, run the £10 example first; if you already use Kit, beehiiv, GoHighLevel or Substack, check the sync first.
Look elsewhere
Eden's own guide says to pick something else if you want tax handled for you, need a marketplace to bring buyers, or want a custom domain.
If any one of those is essential, Eden is probably the wrong tool. If none is, the cost sum and the live-page checks decide it.
Tax, refunds, domain and exit: what Eden's pages say
Tax and VAT
Eden's terms say its stated prices do not include taxes such as VAT. Eden's own guide says to choose something else if you want tax handled for you.
We are not giving tax advice. Ask Eden what it does and does not handle, and check your position with HMRC, GOV.UK or an accountant.

Refunds
Eden's terms, checked in September 2026, say its own plan payments are non-refundable except where required by law. It offers a goodwill refund if you email within 14 days of an annual-plan charge.
Read the current terms before choosing monthly or annual billing. We are not interpreting the law.
Buyers and marketplaces
Eden's own guide says to look elsewhere if you need a marketplace to bring buyers. If you do, the wider platform explainer covers the options.
Domain and exit
Eden's own guide says to look elsewhere if you want a custom domain. Before you build, ask how you would move buyers, files and your email list out, in case you later want your own site.
Five checks before you commit
Live pricing page
Note the plan prices and email limits on Eden's pricing page, with today's date.
Your own fee sum
Add Eden's 5%, Stripe's UK rate and the dollar plan fee, using your real prices.
Domain, tax and VAT
Ask Eden about a custom domain and tax handling, then see the tax section above.
Refund terms
Read the refund wording before choosing monthly or annual billing.
Exit and Stripe
Confirm how you would export buyers, files and your list, and confirm Stripe's UK fees on Stripe's own page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Eden free to start?
Building is free on any plan, according to Eden's courses page. Publishing needs Starter or above, so you pay before you can sell. Check the live pricing page for the current figure.
Can I keep my email tool?
Eden lists Kit, beehiiv, GoHighLevel and Substack, plus Zapier and Make for other connections. Try a test purchase before you rely on one.
Is Eden cheaper than Stan Store?
Eden's own blog says Stan Creator is cheaper per sale than Eden at every sales level. That is a vendor's claim, written by a company that discloses it makes Eden, so verify it yourself.
Does Eden handle VAT or tax?
Eden's prices exclude VAT, and Eden says to pick something else if you want tax handled for you. Check what applies to you with Eden, HMRC, GOV.UK or an accountant.
What does a £10 sale cost in fees?
In our hypothetical illustration, roughly 85p combined from Eden and Stripe, before the plan fee. Confirm both rates on the live Eden and Stripe pages before relying on that.
Verdict: worth a look, but check the live details first
Eden is worth a look if a dollar plan, fast-changing features and your own fee sum work for you. The biggest reservation is that its pages disagree on the Starter price and email limits, and its own guide says to look elsewhere for a custom domain or tax handling. The figures come from Eden, a competitor and a third-party Stripe summary, and none was tested.
Next step: check the live pricing page, then run your own fee sum before paying.
